How to do TDX right

TDX returns to San Francisco on April 15–16, bringing together the Salesforce community for two days of deep technical learning and hands-on experience. This year's theme is "building the Agentic Enterprise", a recognition that the shift to agentic AI is reshaping what it means to develop on Salesforce, and that the community needs to build new skills to keep pace.

With a jam-packed agenda featuring over 400 in-depth technical sessions and hands-on workshops to explore, TDX will play host to thousands of Salesforce experts and professionals within the Trailblazer community, ready to expand their Salesforce knowledge.

Attending TDX represents a real investment — in time, money, and focus. With just two days and hundreds of sessions to choose from, how do you make sure you come away with something genuinely valuable? Whether it's your first TDX or you've lost count, here's our guide to making the most of it.

Know what you want to get out of it

Start with goals, not sessions. Are you here to upskill, explore solutions for a client, or scope out improvements to your team's delivery process? Your goals, not the hype, should shape your agenda. Aim for a balance that stretches your knowledge without spreading yourself too thin. We'd suggest a mix of sessions that deepen existing expertise, challenge your assumptions, and expose you to parts of the ecosystem you don't work with every day. If you're in the market for tools, research exhibiting vendors in advance and plan time for demos and conversations. And if a session feels slightly outside your comfort zone, that could be a sign it's particularly worth attending.

TDX tip: Download the Salesforce events app (on iOS or Android) to learn more about Salesforce events, or use the Agenda Builder by accessing your account via the TDX registration page. This is an easy way to select sessions, keynotes, workshops, and role-based tracks to create a tailored conference schedule — or even just to view the event map when you're there.

Plan your agenda around the bigger picture

The headline sessions make the biggest noise — but if they're not meeting the goals you've set, prioritizing those over more niche talks or workshops could be a mistake. Think about whether you want to go all in and absorb everything you can on a single topic, or dip into a few different areas to broaden your knowledge.

Don't feel that you need to spend every moment of your day in a formal session. Consider scheduling time for ad-hoc learning, such as in the Ask the Experts zone, where you can benefit from one-on-one time with Salesforce experts to work through specific challenges tailored to your org. True to the Core Deep Dives and Sneak Peek Zones also offer opportunities to connect directly with Salesforce product leaders — ask questions, share feedback, and get insight into future features. And don't forget the socials and Happy Hours!

Whatever you choose, forward planning is key to avoid getting overwhelmed when you arrive. We've selected a few sessions that we think look particularly interesting from a Salesforce DevOps perspective:

TDX tip: Attending in-person events can be key to expanding your network and gaining new skills or knowledge, which could help you pass your Salesforce certification exam or even find a new job.

Make connections count

TDX draws together Salesforce professionals at every stage of their career, and the conversations you have outside the session rooms can be just as valuable as what you learn inside them. Some people are bringing fresh eyes to the ecosystem, some have worked with Salesforce for years, but all have something unique to offer.

Network with purpose rather than volume — know your goals, come with specific questions, and seek out people facing similar challenges. It's also one of the few times in the year where you can get genuine face time with vendors and partners, so know where their booths are and follow up afterward while the conversation is still fresh.

TDX tip: Passive networking is still networking. Simply being in the right rooms and listening can lead to great insights and connections. For example, a hands-on workshop where you learn how to use Salesforce tools in a more practical setting may invite more organic social interaction.

Bring knowledge back to the team

After two days in San Francisco you'll likely need some downtime, but try to capture your key takeaways before the detail fades. Even if colleagues also attended, your perspective will be different — share what you learned and, where you can, turn it into concrete next steps. Personal development is valuable in itself, but the real payoff comes when what you've learned improves how your team delivers.

TDX tip: Throughout the event, keep a list of actions to follow up, such as people to reconnect with or tools you'd like to explore. Your journey home is the perfect opportunity to make a plan!
