Dreamforce 2022: Top picks

Dreamforce is almost upon us! For those lucky enough to be attending, by now you’re probably familiar with the feeling that comes with choosing which sessions to catch. Endless possibilities and deliberation, the excitement to learn about new features, or hear customer stories.

Dreamforce is first and foremost a learning experience. It is also an awesome time full of partying and fun, but you should be hoping to come away inspired and with new knowledge that will help make your business more successful. There’s a whole sea of sessions to choose from, which can be overwhelming, so here are my top picks for every Salesforce whether you're a Salesforce Admin, Developer, Architect, or Leader:

Admins

Fundamentally Flow: Understanding Key Flow Concepts Tues Sept 20th 2:30PM-3:10PM PDT

Salesforce’s dedication to click-not-code automation has become stronger this year with improved Flow functionality. Flows are incredibly important to how every Org can deliver value faster for their end-users, so this session will be great to familiarize yourself with what you can achieve.

Make the Move from Change Sets to DevOps Center Tues Sept 20th 2:00PM-2:20PM | Wed Sept 21st 11:30AM-11:50AM PDT

I love DevOps, and it’s great to see Salesforce bringing improved DevOps to the Admin experience on the platform. There’s a lot of joy to be had by moving away from Change Sets, so I highly recommend catching up with Karen and Gilson.

Developers

What You Need to Know About Back, Front and End-to-End Tests Tues Sept 20th 12:30PM-1:10PM

Writing tests is every developers’ favourite part of developing. Okay, well maybe not.. But it is critical that accurate tests are written to prevent disasters in production. Philip is going to be telling us all we need to know about tests that ensure our code and config functions as intended.

Effective Branching Strategies for Salesforce Developers Wed Sept 21st 4:00PM-4:20PM PDT

Working out an effective Git branching strategy can be tricky. Rob Cowell is going to be sharing some strategies that you can use in your Orgs and give you all the context you need to understand what might work for you best. This is sure to be a big hit!

Architect

Ask the Certified Technical Architects Weds Sept 21st 1:00PM-1:20PM

Campfire sessions are always good fun! Becoming a CTA is one of the highest achievements for an Architect—a CTA has spent thousands of hours developing deep technical knowledge that makes them an invaluable resource. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask a panel of true technical experts about architecture, governance, DevOps, and much, much more.

Build the Future with Salesforce Well-Architected Weds Sept 21st 2:00PM-2:40PM

It might seem obvious to include the Architect keynote. However, after being fortunate enough to chat with Tom Leddy (Principal Evangelist, Architect Relations) earlier this year, it can’t be understated how much valuable work has gone into creating Salesforce Well-Architected, and why. There’s going to be a ton of sessions around Well-Architected this year, but this keynote will be essential viewing.

Leadership

How IT Leaders Build Fast with Salesforce DevOps Weds Sept 21st 12:30PM-1:10PM

Faster is better, but only when it’s done securely. Agility is a word heard in conference rooms and read in Slack channels around the world daily. Everyone is searching for it, and how to become truly agile. Head to this session to learn how you can build fast and securely to delight your customers and your employees.

Sustainable to the Core Weds Sept 21st 3:00PM-3:40PM

Salesforce has always pioneered philanthropic business. Effective sustainability practices are going to form a huge part of the way business is conducted moving forward as we do what we can to combat the climate crisis. This session will be led by sustainability experts sharing insights into how you can successfully embed sustainability into your business model.

See you there!

I hope this helps make selecting a few sessions that little bit simpler, and you enjoy every moment of your Dreamforce 2022 experience!

Be sure to head over to the Gearset booths in the Sales Lodge and Trailblazer Forest if you’d like to see how you can accelerate your Salesforce delivery by chatting with our DevOps experts. I look forward to meeting you all!
